When Park moved to Goddard Avenue in 1971, the circular driveway met the needs of a smaller, local student body. Today, with 35% more students and a 34-acre campus, the current layout limits access to nature and outdoor learning spaces.
As part of the final chapter of The SPARK Campaign, we’re reimagining the driveway and transforming Park’s outdoor experience. While expert traffic engineers and landscape architects will lead the driveway redesign, the outdoor space that the project will unlock is a true blank slate.
This fall, dozens of Park families and employees joined Head of School Scott Young and Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations Kimberly Boyd on a series of Campus Walks to explore ideas for outdoor classrooms, performance spaces, nature trails, play structures, and more.
We invite you to see the sprawling 34 acres that make up Park in new ways, and imagine the possibilities for new outdoor spaces that fit the needs of the Park community today and in the future. The video above brings the experience to you, wherever you are!
Stay tuned for a survey opportunity to share ideas about how our woods and green spaces could expand how we teach, learn, and play at Park. You might imagine nature trails, new outdoor learning spaces, play structures, or mindfulness spaces – the possibilities are vast!
